Now Book your train tickets using Mobile Phone, anywhere and anytime WITHOUT using Internet connection. Train passengers will be able to use their mobile phones to book tickets through a simple text-messaging-based-SMS facility or a menu-based dialling service –USSD service. Currently, only registered IRCTC users can use these services.

THE TWO OPTIONS

USSD (Menu-based dialling)
USSD Services are currently offered by:-

Airtel Money - Airtel subscribers Dial *400# on their mobiles. Click here for details.
Dial designated number, you shall receive a Menu Based Screen dialling. Select 'book tickets' option, select 'reservation' (user is prompted to enter his IRCTC user ID once only), enter details     (date of journey, station, train no, class, etc)

Enter mPIN for authorizing payment through mobile wallet

Booking confirmation SMS is sent by IRCTC

SMS Based Booking
SMS Services are currently offered by:-
Bharat BPO - Book by sending SMS at 139. Click here for details.
Frequency Weekly - Book by sending SMS at 5676714. Click here for details.
Pyro Group - Book by installing BSNL PrePaid Card Application in your Java based phone. Click here for details.

For SMS Bookings, send a Booking SMS in specified format with information of Date of Journey, Class , Train Number and Passenger Details. You shall receive Seat Availability.

In the second SMS make the Payment, which can be initiated in either two ways:-
Using Mobile Money Identifier MMID* and one-time password (OTP) as received from Bank for registered Mobile Number.
Using PrePaid Wallet Cards or mWallets.

Booking confirmation SMS is sent by IRCTC.

You can check your train PNR status by following ways:
Through SMS:
You can check reservation status of your ticket through mobile by sending SMS to any of these numbers. These numbers are 54959. 139, 5676747 and 57886.

Registered IRCTC users can now Book railway tickets by just sending two simple SMS.

Pre-requisites to book a ticket through SMS on 139 -

User should be registered on IRCTC website (www.irctc.co.in)
User should have MMID & OTP (One Time Password) for IMPS Transaction
ICICI bank customer can booked ticket directly through bank.
Same Mobile Number should be registered with Bank & IRCTC
For Customers having Bank Account with ICICI Bank

Following is the method to book rail tickets using this SMS service:

STEP 1: Send an SMS to 139 from your registered mobile number (registered with ICICI Bank and IRCTC)

BOOK <TrainNo> <FromCity> <ToCity> <TravelDate(DDMM)> <Class> <Passenger1-Name> <Age> <Gender> <Passenger2-Name> <Age> <Gender> (upto 6 passengers) ICICI

You will receive a message with the following details:

STEP 2: On receipt of the above details, send an SMS to 139 for the payment of the ticket.

PLEASE NOTE: MMID generation is a single click process available with more than 26 Indian Banks covering over 90% of the total banking subscriber base.

OTP is a One Time Password generated and provided by your respective bank.

CANCELLATION PROCESS:

Registered IRCTC users can now Cancel the railway tickets booked by them through SMS earlier by a simple two step process.

CASE 1: The Entire ticket needs to be cancelled:

STEP 1: An SMS to be sent to 139 from your registered mobile to request for cancellation of the ticket. SMS format as follow:


CAN <10 Digit PNR> <IRCTC UserID>
For Example:
CAN 2345678901 Rakesh

After submission of the above SMS, a message would be received from 139. The text of the same is mentioned below.

We have received your request to cancel your PNR Number 2345678901. Please confirm the cancellation by sending YES to 139.


STEP 2: After receipt of the above message, the user needs to confirm the cancellation

by sending an SMS as YES to 139.
After submission of the above SMS, a message would be received from 139. The text of the same is mentioned below.


Your ticket for passenger <Passenger1 Name> <Passenger2 Name> with PNR Number: 2345678901 is cancelled. Refund Amount: 800 only.


CASE 2: The ticket needs to be partially cancelled.

STEP 1: An SMS to be sent to 139 from your registered mobile to request for initiating a partial cancellation of the ticket so booked by you earlier. Format of the SMS:

CAN <10 Digit PNR> <IRCTCUserID> <Passenger Number>
For Example:
CAN 2345678901 Rakesh 12(Upto 6)


STEP 2: After receipt of the above message, the user needs to confirm the cancellation by sending SMS as YES to 139.

After submission of the above SMS, a message would be received from 139. The text of the same is mentioned below:
